I have to say i really dig this album. i thought that all of their stuff was great. however, show your bones included this kind of synth like stuff and acoustic guitar and i felt that THAT music was much more experimental than this music. i felt that show your bones should have been called an EP, not this album. the only thing that i felt was actually experimental on this album were the affects on Karens voice. But lyrically and musically i thought it was touching back to their older stuff and i was very happy to see that they could do that. most bands in the music world lose touch with their roots and forget where they came from. But not these cool cats.

i do not agree with your comment. is is is good, great, fantastic.
it was like listening what they did in the past but with this "mature" (i hate this word but i have to use it) sense and style. each one of those songs is like a piece of what they are and maybe what they are looking for. down boy makes me cry. 10x10 is just what my ears want and have been waiting for, since they listened for the first time.
this is not a fight, just wanted to comment my own thougts. i feel like you, hope for this new album. hope and extasis.

a let-down
after the release of 3 solid lps. i was only expecting the same from the ep. however that was not the case. this ep isn't up to parr with the other yeah yeah yeahs songs. the album lacks feeling. karen's voice seems distant with an effect on it. and when i listen to this i feel like im in a chamber that it bounces everywhere. the effects aren't good on this album. it took away from the rawness of the yyys. and people say that "well how can down boy have feeling its a slow song?". well, the down boy on the liars split has feeling and its just a pleasure to listen too. there are pleanty of slow yyys songs with immense feeling. i truely feel that this was over produced. these songs are amazing. the songs themselves, and live they are also amazing. however they weren't executed well. the only reason i give it a 2 is because its a yeah yeah yeahs peice of music. its an okay ep, but for the yyys its not anything. however, with news of a new album i can only hope that "is is" was a quick way to throw something out while fans waited for the follow up to show your bones.
