Guys only thread

i figure we should have our own thread too where we can talk boobies and sports and other manly things like buying flowers for when we make mistakes. i guess to insure no female wanders in these parts we need to establish a secret hand shake.

Re: Guys only thread

I was watching The Superstars yesterday night. It's an iron man type competition among celebrities. I laughed so hard when model Joanna Krupa bitched out her team partner Terrell Owens. lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-AVdIuPNkk

He's a big guy. I read that he's mean to his team members. She's a female, so she could get away with it.

You can't see it in this footage, but on tv, T.O. was telling her,"I feel sorry for your boyfriend." lol

Good for you for sticking up for people!

I'm an only child, so I really never had to fend for myself at home.

No, it probably just means you're a better, non-aggressive person. You probably had a good family life.

I was raised with siblings that always fought/wrestled each other... I have 2 older brothers, 2 younger and 1 older sister. I always had to sort of fend for myself, and it made me a little paranoid of others as well, like I am constantly waiting for some random stranger to attack me... lol.

It is funny to rant about the person. lol

I would never participate in a fight. I had a girl punch my back at a concert since she wanted to cut in front of me in the venue. Luckily, she was shorter and smaller, so the blows weren't so bad. I couldn't bring myself to hit her back. Then when I went home, I saw that my shirt had gum smeared on my back! Then I thought I should have punched the bitch. lol Luckily, the shirt was satin, so the gum didn't stick.

I wish I could refute that, but I think it's true. lol Real reason is cattiness. That's what I think. Honestly, I have to admit that I'd be terrified to be in a fight with another girl. I think their fighting techniques are more brutal than how guys would fight. Most girls have a tendency to rip their opponents' clothes. And the scratching and hair pulling. Eek. lol

Guys just punch other guys. They never rip off each other clothes off. lol Though, I would like to see that happen sometimes. Just joking. haha

Re: Guys only thread

I've always heard "come for the looks, stay for the personality." Or at least those are the comments I pay attention to.

The primary reason for me to start a relationship is for companionship or friendship.

I've always considered myself, and been considered by others to be a lone wolf, but I really like to express myself sometimes. I enjoy it even more when someone tells me about how they feel. Getting to know a person, their drives, their nuances and ambitions, that's always been something I enjoy immensely.

If they don't have anything going on up there, then they feel empty to me. I've met a lot of people like that, primarily ultra-professionals or people who have been brainwashed into the consumer lifestyle that we have hammered into us as a child, in school, work and by the media.

You're not alone with the bad facial hair thing... And there are way to many guys around my age that smell/look like crap. Funny thing about it is that girls seem to fall all over them... Although they are usually the type I've described previously. I think it's the bad-boy vibe they put out that pulls them in.

I'm wondering if anyone other than me notices these things...

Re: Guys only thread

Thanks for the well thought out response!

My friend and I were talking about how you don't see attractive guys with unattractive gals. But then again, attractive is going to mean differently to people. I know guys won't comment, but gals can be judgmental sometimes. If they see a couple where the guy is the attractive one, they always question what the guy sees in her. I guess people aren't thinking about personalities and qualities in a person.

I used to think that most guys didn't like gals who are intelligent. I was wrong. Most of the guys that I notice don't mind asking for help from the gals. It's more interesting to have a conversation with someone who has interests and knowledge. It's always fun learning from people.

Haha The make up. I always hear from guys that they don't like too much make up or bad make up. I think the make up tends to come off and get everywhere. lol
I do like make up but don't put it on so often. It would be tinted lip balm and blush. I don't bother with foundation and eye makeup.

For guys, I expect good hygiene. lol Oh man, some guys really need to know about brushing their teeth and taking a shower. haha One of my pet peeves is bad facial hair. I think I get it from my mom. Well, I don't mind the 5 o'clock shadow or some facial hair, like goatee, moustache every once in a while. It's just the full on ZZ Top beards that get to me. lol And no soul patch, please. haha

Well, for me, if I had a chance to go out with a good looking guy with zero personality, I'd probably put up about half an hour just to see what it is like to be with him. It's curiosity, I suppose. But if his personality is really bad and off putting, maybe the time spent will be shorter. lol

I have another question for you guys.

Would you put up with someone with a bad personality even though she's really gorgeous? How many days would you put up with the person? lol Let's say she's really bitchy and mean.

If the person is not attractive but has a good personality, would you see yourself being attracted to the person? Or no.

If someone is snobby I could never live with or perhaps even hang around them. In fact, there have been a lot of times that I have been attracted to someone, and upon meeting them, I was turned off by either their arrogance or total lack of intelligence.

And there is a difference between ditsy/fun and stupid/unintelligent. If someone's interests and hobbies revolve around looking good, they won't hold my interest for a day.

On the other hand, someone who cares about their personal appearance so little that they become horribly obese or never keep their appearance up, I would not be attracted to them. That would show to me that they don't value the opinions of other people. If I care enough about my appearance to exercise and eat smart, I'd expect someone I was dating to at least attempt to do the same.

A lot of women that most guys consider unattractive, plain or average I find beautiful. It all depends on the guy. Some guys only like girls with barbie doll bodies, faces and fake hair color. I personally don't find that to be attractive. I've always liked more petite women or "realistic" framed women and not really gone with the "big breasts" thing, but that doesn't mean I only like one type of frame. It's just a preference.

I really hate implants. Just be yourself, PLEASE!

I like it when women don't wear makeup. They look really natural and vibrant. I understand that most women feel a bit exposed without it though, so I wouldn't expect them to do without it. As long as it's not overused, makeup can be cute though. Eye shadow for instance looks great on some women, and lipstick can work well too.

As for outright looks, if someone is pretty plain but has a great personality, are genuinely interested in me, and are fun to be around, I am attracted to them. Making the other person feel good about him/herself is key to a relationship lasting IMO.

I have a feeling that more guys than women put more importance on looks than personality, but maybe that's just my glorification (and hope) of the opposite sex. :)

Wow, you ask a simple question and get an essay from me, as usual.

Some men's fragrances can be really strong. I guess some men have strong body odor. There was a study where they said women found sweaty armpits from men arousing. I don't know about that. haha

Re: Guys only thread

That's the thing with me, and I'm guessing a lot of guys; I don't really know "brands" of perfume/scents, I like things like citrus, general flowery stuff and especially lilac. I've always thought lilac was the most pleasant and beautiful aroma I've ever smelled.

It just smells clean, sweet and just strong enough to not be overpowering.

The "fresh" smell with guys makes sense. I never understood cologne... It just smells like gasoline with perfume dumped in. Dominating and sharp, and hard to relax when someone has it on.

I've always liked lavender and lilac. (I really like lilac) Not really a fan of cinnamon or some lotions that leave an oily smell.

I hate it when perfume is really strong though. Makes it hard to concentrate. Smell isn't a primary attractant for me, but it can help.

I know a list since sometimes I read the beauty boards, and the girls would list some of their favorite men's fragrances.

I don't like strong fragrances either. I like clean scents or the clean out of the shower scent. I guess I like soapy scents.

I used to wear this men's fragrance because it smells fresh; it's called Gendarme. The scent doesn't last, but they came out with a stronger kind.

I really don't want to become one of those guys with a huge belly when I'm older... I'd sooner stop eating than get to that point. People recommend not going too low in calories because then you'd go into starvation mode. 1500 sounds about right.

Weight lifting is a good exercise. I remember in high school we had to do push ups and chin ups. I tried the chin up and could never even get to halfway there. haha

I really hope to jog more. I used to run on the treadmill for an hour everyday. I lost 10 pounds. Once I stopped, the pounds came back! Ah well, I'm 15 pounds heavier than my ideal weight.

Still, you guys have it easier when it comes to losing weight.

Next thread, "What's your waist size?" :)

I'm 32-33 depending on how much I eat or drink (I drink tons of water) the previous day. Anyone with a waist under 28 is either pretty damn skinny or short.

Good to know about the, "women don't like skinny guys" thing. I'm currently dieting, and originally planned to go down to 140 from 165. I think I'll stop at 150 or 155 instead...

What if you knew the guy for a while?

If you just meet the guy then that would be weird.

I got another question for you guys.

Why is it that some guys get uncomfortable when a female cries in front of them?

My father gets uncomfortable when either my mother or I cry. lol Well, sometimes my mother and I get emotional. hehe I don't cry in public though.

At least for me, I hate to see someone so vulnerable especially the opposite sex. You have to be careful in everything you say to not make the situation any worse.

Re: Guys only thread

It depends if it affects the relationship. If you are always accusing them of cheating than it becomes an issue and a recipe for disaster.

I try to hide my jealousy as well from the individual. I believe it's human nature to feel a little competetive with the same sex sometimes, but I wont make an issue of it unless it starts to get physical. Bottom line, trust is an important factor in any realtionship, but once you lose it, it's nearly impossible to re-gaine it again.

I got a question.

What is your meaning of cheating? Like if she flirts with another guy?? Or it has to be more than that.

sex. but if shes kissing another guy that isnt cool either.

In my class we were debating if cybersex was considered cheating which I totally agree. You start to spend less time with you supposed better half and fantasize about your cyberlover.

If I was a husband married for 30 years and started to flirt with every female in this board what would you think of me.. a total perve right. Actually maybe PRJM42 would think its pretty hilarious, but for the most part, not cool.

if you did it.....yeah it would be funny haha.

but yeah i agree once you start paying more attention to someone else youre walking a fine line. but if its just a random thing it will take more. like if she just has sex thats no good. but shes out with friends and gets kiss by some random guy id be like what was that about??? but its not the same, if its a one time random deal and she sees him all the time. if she hung out with another guy every few days and kissed id take that as cheating.

Somehow I knew someone would say sex constitutes as cheating. haha

Cybersex is cheating without real sex.

vic, if you were married and flirting with gals on the board, I wouldn't think you were a perv. I think flirting is ok and innocent. It's a boost to the ego, sometimes. Besides flirting on a board isn't as bad as flirting someone offline in person. Oh, I don't know. haha

But what if she's spending more time with her friend who happens to be male. Is it emotional cheating?

Well, if I were in a relationship, I'd trust the guy. If he has friends who are female and want to hang out, I wouldn't mind. A little flirting is ok, hmm, as long as I'm not around. haha I have a tendency toward being jealous sometimes. I just hate the thought of a guy knowing I'm jealous over him.

Is being jealous bad?
